Kindy program

A warm, Christ-centred Kindy program for children in the year before Prep
At ECC Little Gems, our Kindy program provides a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children grow in confidence, curiosity, and character. Guided by qualified early childhood teachers, our program supports each child’s developmental needs while laying strong foundations for their future learning.

Our Kindy program is Queensland Government-Approved, meaning families can access Free Kindy for 15 hours per week (five days per fortnight). This ensures every child has the opportunity to experience high-quality early learning in the year before Prep.

What makes our Kindy special

Christ-centred environment
Grounded in Christian values that nurture kindness, respect, and character. Children learn in a community that reflects God’s love and encourages them to grow in faith.

Seamless transition to school
Located on the Emerald Christian College campus, our Kindy gives children confidence as they move into Prep and become familiar with the wider school community.

Experienced educators
Our qualified early childhood teachers create a warm, supportive environment and are committed to nurturing each child’s academic, social, and emotional growth.

Partnership with families
We value strong, open communication with parents. Through genuine collaboration and involvement, we work together to support every child’s learning journey.

What your child will experience
Our Kindy days are filled with meaningful play, exploration, and connection. Children engage in:
-
Play-based learning across indoor and outdoor environments
-
Emerging literacy and numeracy through stories, songs, conversations, and hands-on activities
-
Social and emotional learning, helping children build friendships, confidence, and resilience
-
Creative expression through art, music, movement, and dramatic play
-
Faith-based experiences, learning about God’s love through stories, prayer, and age-appropriate Christian values
-
Physical skill development through gross motor play, fine motor activities, and guided movement.

Our educators take the time to know every child — their interests, learning styles, strengths, and challenges — creating a personalised and caring learning journey.
